Search feature?

Is there a way to have/make a search feature available in Bigtree?

Re: Search feature?

Do you mean a search for the front end of your website?

Re: Search feature?

It's possible to combine the individual module classes with their "search" method and the BigTreeAdmin class' "searchPages" method to search all of your site's content, but this will always lead to less than great results.

In all cases where we've needed a front end search for a website we have relied on Google Custom Search:

Re: Search feature?

Will there be any plans to have this feature available on future version?

Imho, a search feature is a basic feature that is quite needed

Re: Search feature?

There are currently no plans to build anything more than the search methods of the existing classes. No one that contributes to the project specializes in contextual search. We'd welcome contributions that enhance the search capabilities of BigTree but we have no one on board at the moment that can help.

We rely on Google because it's their expertise and use module specific searches when needed for things like blogs, news, and events.
