Modules and database question

I am noticing that when I edit a module in the database directly, it doesn't update the information in the module's view.  If I create a new view, then the updated information is there, but like before, doesn't incorporate any new changes from then on. It seems to me like there are plenty of situations (eg. a user-inputted form) where you would edit or add to the module through the database and not through the administration area, so I feel like there is something that I'm missing here.  So, basically, how can I edit a module properly through the database instead of the admin area?

Re: Modules and database question

No problem! I'm guessing you found AutoModules's clearCache() function:
