Creating a module

I'm testing the CMS and I want to create a new module. When creating views and forms it asks for a table. I'm confused because I would have thought that the table was created with the module automatically.

Do I have to create tables manually in MySQL?
Is there a way to create tables from inside the CMS?

There are two approaches, if you use "Create Module" it assumes you've already done the legwork in making your table to your needs. You can also use Module Designer that will ask you what fields you're going to use and it will create the table on your behalf with the columns it thinks will be suit your needs.
